- Propose a motion
- Stand for the Society Committee
- Stand for the Club Board
- Stand for Supporters Liaison Officer
The Supporters Society 2020 AGM will take place at 7pm on 3 September via videoconference. Members will also be able to dial in by phone. Details will be sent to all paid-up members two weeks ahead of the AGM.
We look forward to welcoming you to the AGM and encourage all members to take part. While the Club has achieved fantastic progress since becoming community-owned in 2017, there is no doubt that challenges lie ahead, given the impact of COVID on the 20/21 season and the uncertain future of our vital redevelopment plans. It’s more important than ever that you, the Club’s owners, are up-to-date and engaged with what’s happening at the Club.
This will be your chance to hear updates; ask questions of the Society Committee and Club Board; propose, debate and vote on motions, and even stand for the committee or board yourself. Have your say and play your part in the running of your football club.
Your voice can make a real difference in shaping the club’s future: in recent years, motions have been proposed to introduce a 3G pitch and to ensure that members have the final say on any changes to the cultural heritage of the club, such as badge, kit and name.
All motions must be proposed and seconded. To propose a motion, please fill in this form.
Stand for election to the Society Committee
We invite members to stand for election to the Society Committee. Any member may nominate themselves: you do not need a proposer or seconder. To stand, please fill in this form.
Six positions on the Society Committee will be up for election at the AGM.
The Society is the Club’s majority shareholder, and the Committee’s role is to:
- Represent the views of members and supporters to the Club Board;
- Work constructively with the Club Board to support and scrutinise its decisions and activities;
- Uphold the spirit of transparency, accountability, community benefit and supporter democracy.
Committee members serve for two years, taking part in monthly meetings. These are usually held on weekday evenings, and it is also possible to participate remotely via videoconference.
Stand for election as Supporter Liaison Officer
The Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) is a Club Board position with the specific responsibility for maintaining dialogue between supporters and the Club Board on supporter issues, i.e. issues and concerns arising from the experience of attending or otherwise following home and away matches. This can include, but is not limited to, ticket prices, access, matchday experience, away travel, information sharing, segregation, opportunities to “meet the manager” etc. The SLO’s work contributes to a constructive and communicative atmosphere between the fans and the club.
As current SLO Martin Powell has completed his 3-year term, an election will be held to appoint an SLO for the next three years. To stand, please fill in this form.
To learn more about the role, please read this role description and get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Stand for election to the Club Board
In addition to the SLO, one Club Board position will be up for election at the AGM. Again, any member may nominate themselves: you do not need a proposer or seconder.
Directors on the Club Board serve for three years, and are directly responsible for the running of the club, including commercial, sales and marketing, operations, football, finance, community, supporter liaison and other aspects. Anyone who is a member of the Supporters Society can stand for election to the Club Board.
To stand, please fill in this form.
